TRAILER #1 Gen-X Doc

Hello everyone! Here it is, our first trailer for the documentary we started production on this past summer. The interviews went great and the locations in and around SE Portland were fun and really fit the atmosphere of the film. Thanks again to Awesome Tanya from B-Side Tavern along with Rustin and the one and only Nikki Sin! with AFRU Gallery.

Interviews Are Still Ongoing…

That’s right we’re still getting as much as we can out of the city of Portland along with some of it’s coolest residents. Still conducting limited interviews up until the beginning of December. If you had a great holiday and feel that it’s time to tell your story of youth and or believe your voice could add to the conversation then please contact Peter Grey at pgreypdx@gmail.com to request an interview.

Where can I go to see this insightful commentary on a miss-understood generation

Sean Mitchel- Founder of the Oregon Avocado Toast Festival or OAT Fest ’24

Happy you asked! Just like all of the other content created by the Actors/ Crew here we release these works to film festivals around the country under the banner of our production company, Red Stool Productions.

We can and do show our work at various spots around Portland. Sometimes at a bar, restaurant, or even artist galleries and/or rented spaces around PDX! Stay tuned for any updates on local screenings or viewing parties in cool carports / chill garage / any comfy and warm space near you!

Interested on how that would work, or in hosting us and our film please contact Peter Grey at pgreypdx@gmail.com

You never know where this and our other films will show up at. If interested in attending any of the festivals we submitted with we will post a list of festivals that we will be traveling to this Spring/ Summer. Any and all Actor / Crew are invited to come along with us and maybe sit on a panel and definitely meet other creators of wild and weird films.

Our thanks again to everyone who has helped with and assisted in the creation of our film. Stay tuned for updates on the next trailer and release dates.

Now in Production…..

Interviews at B Side October 23

We would like to thank Awesome Tanya for letting the B-Side Tavern serve as one of the locations in our film. We got 5 interviews over 2 Fridays and we couldn’t have done it without her and Nina, bartender extraordinaire! Nina helped us store equipment, answer questions, and was a cool professional to work with. Thanks guys!

It’s a new week and onto new interviews. As we were shooting at B-Side on our last Friday i happened to meet a nice Gen-Xer as he tended to his puppy. “So whats going on here?” Nick asked as I was smoking a cigarette out front.

After taking with Nick and his puppy he told me that someone he knows would be very interested in having us ask them questions. Rustin is an artist he knows and after some more talking we were able to come up with a plan to shoot both of them on the same day at the same location.

We will be shooting next Sunday October 29th at AFRU Gallery on Oak St. Wow! What a cool spot! Statues of H.P.Lovecraft inspired art along with Acrobats practicing on rigs set up in the middle of it all! We’ve got the perfect spot picked out to film these highly anticipated interviews with a couple of local artists and world travelers.

Rustin, an artist living in Portland and resident of AFRU. is up first. His interview starts out with his time living in NYC and working at C.B.G.B.s in the late 80’s-mid 90’s. His stories of the time lend a one of a kind perspective of living in the largest city on the east coast. We all cant wait to hear the experiences and tales he has to tell!

Next up is the one and only Nikki Sin! Gifted musician and local performance artist with a wealth of cool stories to tell. This gifted artist has lived in PDX for almost a decade, but his unique experiences and vivid stories are what this film is all about!

Halfway during the pre-interview i knew these two gentleman will provide genuine tales of the time period. Sometimes important things gets overlooked when the only point of view in the film is from the former famous folks of that time and not the people who worked hard to support them!

Our goal in this project was to capture real tales from genuine people who were there and lived it! These next two interviews more than fit that bill!

Sheryl interview 10-13 B-Side
Thank you Sheryl

Later that same day our interviewer will pack it up and prepare for his show at the Hungary Tiger. His trivia is a blast and dare I say, the best in Portland! The most up to date questions not generated by a computer. That’s right folks our co-producer Kerr writes writes every show himself!

Kerr and Tiger Trivia start around 4pm and goes until 7pm depending on the crowd. After the show we will be asking folks if they would like to answer 3 questions about Gen-X and/or give us their best story from that time! If you have a story to tell then come to the Hungary Tiger and play some trivia!
